Project AGIR

Support for Integrated Management of the School Network

Aiming to present an integrated package of “best in class” modules in school management, the project brought together three technological projects with software and hardware components, with the aim of revolutionizing school management, teaching and learning and relationship between parents, teachers and students.

The project has application both in the Portuguese market and in international markets, particularly in those that are priority targets of the E-xample consortium, such as Latin America and Portuguese-speaking countries.

Entities and responsibilities

Inovar +, Microio and Edições ASA II are responsible for supplying and integrating, respectively, the academic management, operational management (software and hardware) and pedagogical management modules that make up the project.

Globaltronic takes over the supply of classroom hardware.

The University of Aveiro carries out scientific monitoring, collecting feedback with a view to the evolution of the system and proposing adjustments to the operating models.

The E-xample consortium is involved with an external consultant, providing strategic support in the design of the operating models and, through its EduLabs initiative, operational support in validating the project.

Integrator Portal

The face of the project, in each client, is the integrator portal.

This tool is responsible for centralizing the authentication process for system users and brings together access shortcuts to the different modules in one place.

The portal also includes aggregated information of relevance to the authenticated user, such as “dashboards” of management indicators, or the teacher’s working hours.

Disclosure

Between January 20th and 23rd, 2015, Inovar +AZ, taking advantage of its presence at the BETT London 2015 fair, promoted the holding of a mini-conference to present the AGIRE project. The lecture took place on January 24th between 11:30 am and 11:45 am.

The audience was made up of education professionals, from teachers to school directors and providers of technological solutions for education.

The lecture consisted of a general presentation of the project’s strengths, framed by the difficulties it aims to overcome, namely the dispersion of information in the school environment, the repetition of work and the lack of visibility for the processes.
